Letter from 55th Reunion Chair

Dear Greatest Paschal’69 Reunion Committee and Fellow Classmates:

This past weekend’s reunion at LOT 12 will be remembered for the stunning view of our alma mater plus the incredible food, ambiance — and you!

Already decorated in purple & white (of course, in honor of Paschal – not TCU!) and their food, cocktails & mock-tails were wonderful.  Plus, LOT 12 offered a fabulous view from it’s roof top of dear old Paschal -- just one block away.

Beverly Kostohryz Kellow & Sue Jacobson Bailey were the two humble but deserving driving forces doing so much of the heavy lifting.

Following an extended conversation with Shirley Yates Turner at the grocery store, Beverly took the lead in touring and coordinating with LOT 12. As Beverly remarked, “once I toured LOT 12, they had me at ‘Hello’!”  What a magnificent menu she created for us. And behind the scene, Sue coordinated our registration & manages our website year-round.

Our 55th Reunion Committee Members were so dedicated, meeting time and again, in person and virtually, at Tommy’s Hamburger Grill to create a weekend that everyone would enjoy — and it was awesome.

I especially want to thank:

  • Steve Pruitt for creating our In Memoriam slide show to honor those Panthers who have passed on before us.
  • Dub & Cathy Munson Ambrose and Konrad Hartman for bringing together our class song “Leaving on a Jet Plane” and “With a Little Help from My Friends”, with featured vocalists Rick Hill and Cissy Ramsel Birdseye;
  • Mike Ryan (a Fort Worth ISD Trustee) for arranging our Tour of Paschal Saturday morning.
  • Steve & Fay Evans-Martin for photographing each event throughout the weekend;
  • Jim & Suzanne Wheeler Gibbs for photographing our parties as well as documenting them in 360 panoramic view!  Jim & Sue also produced our “Paschal’69 Retrospective” slide show underwritten by our Corporate Donor, Harper & Lucas Funeral Home.
  • Thanks to ALL our generous DONORS who underwrote expenses which helped keep our ticket price affordable! Please click to see & thank those on our DONOR LIST.

All in all, we proved two things:

First, we reignited lasting friendships that have impacted our lives. This weekend allowed us to reconnect with long-time friends and to discover “new friends” with whom we share fond memories of football, basketball, and baseball games, pep rallies, Sports Follies, Annual Day, and so much more.

Second, the Class of ’69 is STILL doing fine!

We will definitely host our 60th Reunion in five more years, and there is talk we may hold a gathering in two years — as most of us “Turn 75”.

In the meantime, let’s all stay in touch with each other, and please also remember to pray for one another as we and our families face life challenges where we need some extra strength.

Thank you once again for making our “55th Reunion” such a resounding success!

Be blessed and be kind,

John “Bubba” Fletcher
