Heaven has gained an angel! My Dad was an amazing father, husband, friend and veterinarian. He was taken too soon from us, but we find comfort in knowing he is now healed. He lived a full and rich life and we will miss him so much!

Thank you for all your love, support and prayers!

Danny Dean Cole

WEATHERFORD — Dr. Danny Dean Cole, DVM, 65, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at his home in Weatherford. He spent his last days surrounded by friends, family and pets who loved him dearly.

FUNERAL: 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2016 in Greenwood Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood.

Danny was born Jan. 29, 1951, in Fort Worth. He truly loved the people, places and spirit of Cowtown; he was a proud Class of ’69 Paschal Panther football player, a member of Parker County Cowboy Church and an avid supporter of Aledo football.

Danny bled maroon; he was a member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of ’73, a member of the Corps of Cadets and a graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine Class of ’77. His three children sang the War Hymn by age 2 and became Texas A&M graduates following in his footsteps.

Danny cherished animals; he practiced veterinary medicine for 38 years and owned his own practice, Alta Mesa Animal Clinic, for 33 years. He was a compassionate veterinarian; countless pets have lived richer, fuller lives by his hands.

Danny was a man of splendid behavior and never shirked a task. He was cheerful in all weathers; full of wry wit and humor with few perfectly-placed words. Danny enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, like a good cup of coffee or spotting wildlife on an evening country drive. He lived for his children; watching them grow up made him the happiest. He is now wrapped in the arms of our Lord in heaven, a more beautiful place.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Kay Cole of Weatherford; daughter, Kelly Cole; daughter and son-in-law, Paige and Scott Cropper; son and daughter-in-law, Clay and Ashley Cole; mother, Edna Cole (age 99); brother and sister-in-law, Charles Powell and Nancy Cole; pets, faithful German Shepherd Gunner, little Sleeve Pekingese, Choo-Choo, Pekingese, Lilliputian, cats, WinStar, Tiny and Gray Ghost.

The only reason I haven't commented earlier is I am having great difficulty finding the words to express my sadness.  What a wonderful guy.  The only thing I can figure is that God had some really sick animals in Heaven that needed help so he tapped Danny on the shoulder.

I really did not know him very well and he left us way too soon ... BUT at least while he was here with us, he had a wonderful life with his family ... Judy Johnson Fowler

Danny was absolutely one of the nicest guys in our class.  He never failed to say "hi" even though he didn't know me that well.  Thank goodness for Facebook so I could get to "know" him and his wonderful family.  I hear the sadness in everyone's comments but so enjoy the rememberances of a sweet soul.  Paschal proud even though I'm a Who Dat in New Orleans.  RIP, Danny!

I remember Danny's always kind smile and friendly attitude. I had classes with Danny at Paschal and that big guy was always in a good mood. Always a pleasure to be around then, and we were lucky enough to be with him at some of the reunions. We will miss you big guy.

So verry sorry to hear about Danny's passing. I remember the kind and very positive person he was.  May he rest in peace and may all of Danny's family and friends find comfort in the beautiful memories of him.

It is always tough loosing a good friend. Danny really set the bar high on his journey through life. He left us with his inspirations and great memories.
